I started integrating myself into the environments and surfaces surrounding my homes with small objects and creations including food from my kitchen, clay pieces I made (and broke) by hand, and other organic materials. Via these modest but sincere offerings I attempt to reconnect to the often harsh and unnatural man-made urban environment from which I feel sometimes estranged.
The home surfaces began with my yard in brooklyn, new york parking lots and walls, and have come to include fabrics and other interior materials connected to the home and/or also representative of the the regions where I'm living and photographing.
